Parents nurture their children with food, shelter, protection, education, and love. Unfortunately, not all children are blessed with parents. Orphans faced emptiness and social disadvantage right from day one. In India, there are tens of thousands of orphans who are spending their childhood on the streets. Not all orphans are part of child care institutions or are adopted into a better future. Many end up with their extended family members on the street. Umeed was founded with the mission of creating leaders. At Umeed we aim not just to clothe, feed and education orphans but to mould them into future leaders. Umeed was founded by Wali Rahmani to convert the orphans who are considered a liability on the society into the assets and future leaders who will further work for social welfare. At Umeed, we have 22 children who are not just supported for all their basic needs but also trained to be holistic individuals. The monthly expenses at Umeed are around Rs. 1.5 lacs, mostly incurred on rent, electricity, food, books, clothes, transportation, sports training, teacher and other staff salaries, etc.
We are trying to raise a fund of Rs. 10,00,000 to support Umeed for the next 6 months. Every penny counts, so contribute even if its a small amount. Your contribution could provide the next meal or book for these children.
