In traditional farming about 70 trees are planted in one acre of land and the growth of tree is very big. In UHDP mango plantation, the no. of plants in one acre is about 500 and the trees bear the fruit in the 3rd year itself due to the continuous grafting and restricting the height of the tree to 6ft.
Got the Soil Testing and water testing done from IoTA Labs, Hyderabad and the report mentions that the land is suitable for all types of orchard crops. Cost for testing is Rs.4000/-.
There was no bore in the land, so had engaged a Geologist who had shown us the points suitable for drilling. We got more than sufficient water in about 350 ft and the pressure is very high and the water is sufficient for the plantation. The geologist and the bore digging cost Rs. 55,000/-.
Also, applied for the Drip Irrigation facility with the Govt. of Telangana and the same will be installed by 20th July. The total cost is 68,000/- and got subsidy of 53,000/- and I paid Rs. 15,000/- for the drip irrigation. Installed Texmo 7.5 HP 7th stage Motor for the borewell and it cost Rs.1.01 lakhs and the working is smooth.
Dug about 1500 pits in total in the field for the mango plants and around 250 pits for the boundary where trees such as Red Sandal wood-100, sree gandham-100 and 50-others. The cost for digging pits - Rs,40,000/- Labour cost- Rs,20,000/- and cost of boundary trees - Rs.60,000/-.
The entire field had to be covered with chain Mesh for avoiding damage to the plants by Deers, wild pigs and other small animals. The fencing was done very strongly by using iron rods, cement and iron mesh. It cost Rs.2.60 Lakhs.
Placed order for 1500 plants from Jain Irrigation systems and they have given subsidy of Rs.12/- for each plant and the cost if Rs.24/- per plant instead of Rs.36/-. The total cost for 1500 plants is Rs.36,000/-.
The plants will be delivered by 25th July and the planting will be done from 25th July.
The UHDP technology is developed by Jain Irrigation systems in association with Coca-cola and the mango fruits will be bought by Jain Irrigation systems and they supply to Coca-cola for manufacturing maaza drink. There is no requirement of selling in the local market as the entire produce will be purchased directly from the farm by Jain Irrigations systems.
The total cost as of now is about Rs. 6.00 lakhs.
The future cost will be :
1- Labourer - Rs.5,000/- per month For 3 years - 1.80 lakhs
2- Farm Yard manure for plants - for 3 years - Rs.50,000/-
3. Cover for the roots - Rs.25,000/-
4.cutting, grafting, other fertilisers - Rs.45,000/-.
For every Rs.1000/- invested in the farm you will be given a return of Rs.100/- from the 3rd year i.e when the first produce is sold and also 5kgs of farm fresh mangoes.
The return will be paid every year starting from 3rd year till 23 years i.e for 20 years and the initial investment is paid back in the final year or whenever it is asked for after 5th year of planting the trees. Once the initial investment is returned, the yearly divident of Rs.100/- for every 1,000/- will not be paid.
You can also invest in the Red Sandal wood tree or Sri Gandham trees for Rs. 5,000/- per tree. The plants will take about 12 years to grow fully and will fetch around Rs. 1600/- per KG and the tree will be of apprx 25 kg weight. Each tree will fetch about Rs.40,000/-. The trees will be geo tagged and also the name board of the investor will be put up beside the tree.
The tree growth and all updates will be provided by email and also the photographs of the trees will be mailed monthly. You can also visit the Farm physically to see the trees.
You will also be contributing to the environment and reducing the carbon foot print. You can also raise the trees in the name of your loved ones.
It is an excellent opportunity to get guaranteed income from the mango trees which will be raised professionally and will be sold to Coca-cola India.
Next year, We are planting Red Sandal wood trees, Sri Gandham Trees, Malabar wood (used for paper) in 6 acre land in the same village. The Koilsagar project canal is passing from the boundary of the land and it has abundant water.
Hi All..
I am from village in Mahboobnagar Dist, Telangana and working as a Mid Level Manager in State Govt. PSU in Hyderabad. Though I was born in a village, I was brought up in Hyderabad.
I have about 3 acres of ancestral agriculture land at Gopanpally village, Devarakadra Mandal, Mahabubnagar Dist, Telangana State ( 125 kms from Hyderabad) which we had given on lease till now . But this year I am planting Mango orchard using Ultra High Density Mango Plantation (UHDP).
