“She is a broken piece of broken pottery, put back together by her own hands. And the cruel world judges her cracks while missing the beauty of how she made herself own again ”
Hi, we a bunch of committed high school changemakers Mansha Saraswat, Suhani Bonwate, Mariya Kurian, Vikramaditya Laddha, and Krish Gupta have decided to support women artisans of NGO Hosa Belaku, showing and acting upon our main interest in Gender Equality.
Our Aim
Our aim is to raise funds and to support the small scale business of the help needing people associated with the organization. These people, especially the women, come from places with a lack of resources. We want to raise the funds to help these women to overcome their battles and thrive in life.
To end the suffering of the women, all of us will be marketizing and helping them sell their arts and crafts and to support Hosa Belaku.
Hosa Belaku - New light/ New Dawn
The meaning of Hosa Belaku is ‘New Dawn.’ It plays a role of a new light in the lives of people who are helpless. People who are physically weak or belong to a background of lack of education.
At Hosa Belaku Artisans' Foundation, the artisans forget their problems and merge them with laughter that they share with each other. It’s a cheerful atmosphere in the place as the artisans create their own unique products.
The prime focus of the organisation is on socially disadvantaged women, people with disabilities, and women supporting family members with disabilities.
Why fund?
Little fundings can help turn these women's lives around and help them lead an uninterrupted decent livelihood. This would empower those women who face social and economic abuse. The funding will also contribute as support to the families of the women.
How to fund?
The fundings can be done in/or both of the two ways.
You can contribute an amount to the organisation through the website, milaap.org. Give your life a good purpose, help others and grasp the chance to make someone’s life better.
Even with a small amount, one can help the helpless. As it is said. “Helping others is the true happiness”
However, If one does not believe in giving out donations for various reasons and you like to spend money on someone's hard work of course Shop For Good (a virtual event on 23rd October, 2021 from 2-4 pm )is perfect for you. If you like handmade goods then that's perfect.
Visit hosabelakuartisans.org and shop materials of your liking for decoration or gifting purposes and while doing so just remember you are also helping some helpless women live their lives and experience the immense happiness it provides you.

About Hosa Belaku
Hosa Belaku means New Dawn in Kannada. Since our inception in 2017, we have had but one mission – to usher in a new dawn of hope, dignity and financial stability into the lives of the villagers of the remote villages of Karnataka. Socially and economically disadvantaged women, people with disabilities, and women supporting family members with disabilities have been our prime focus. We have managed to gainfully employ 22 such members and ensure them a steady, uninterrupted livelihood and hence a decent and dignified standard of living.
We have currently three operational groups – Kirana, Deepa and Ushe in the villages of Kadahalli, Halasuru and Achalu that are trained in various vocational and artistic skills. From sewing, embroidery, crochet, macramé, dyeing, painting, block printing to paper making, weaving and jewellery making, these artisans have been mastering various artistic skills and producing some of the finest handmade artefacts. We continue to positively impact the lives of these women and intend to expand our outreach in the upcoming years.
Our Mission
Empowering rural women surviving socio-economic abuse, persons with disabilities and their family members to earn a decent livelihood working from their home locations through hand made products.
How will we use your contribution?
We need your support in increasing the number of lives touched by Hosa Belaku Artisans’ Foundation and train and support more women artisans in the ensuing years. Your contribution will be used to scale our program and reach out to more women who are in need of our support.
We urge you to be a part of our journey in creating positive change.
