Who is this for?
ZPHS Nagayalanka is a government high school in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, serving over 500 students in Grades 6-10. Despite the dedication of its teachers, students sit in overcrowded classrooms without proper desks, fans, textbooks, or computers. Many study on the floor. The walls are crumbling. There is no digital learning equipment.
Why does this matter?
Andhra Pradesh has over 2,600 Zilla Parishad High Schools (ZPHS), and Telengana has even more. Many of them face the same challenges. These are children from rural and low-income families whose only path to a better future is education — but their classrooms are failing them.
Who am I?
My name is Ishika Kolli. I am a Grade 7 student and the founder of Support Andhra Students. Nagayalanka has been important to my family for decades — many of my relatives received their first day of education here. In fact, my grandfather both studied and taught here. Whenever I visited and saw the condition of the schools, I knew I had to do something.
