#BePolite is a social initiative founded by Ar. Aakarsh Shamanur in 2017, with a simple yet powerful mission to empower women street vendors in underserved communities by providing them with solar-powered lights. These lights help them work safely after dark, earn sustainably, and live with dignity.

Over the past eight years, #BePolite has illuminated the lives of over 500 women across India, creating safer streets and stronger communities, one light at a time.

This year, we’re taking our mission to the next level by hosting a Pickleball Fundraiser in Bengaluru.
Our goal: to raise ₹3,00,000 and use these funds to bring light to the carts of women street vendors in Meghalaya.
