Story

This fundraiser is being organized by the Intersections Initiative to support the educational work undertaken by Capital Foundation for the cause of women's empowerment.

The importance of women's empowerment cannot be understated - in a society where girls and women are compelled to conform to oppressive gender roles, are denied countless opportunities for personal and professional development, and are vulnerable to different forms of discrimination, exploitation, and violence, it is vital that we do all we can to change hearts and minds towards the cause of women's empowerment. The best way to do that is through childhood and youth interventions - this demographic represents the future of society, and educating them about women's issues and rights is the first step in changing our world for the better.

Founded in 2022, the Intersections Initiative seeks to develop and distribute educational resources to help students gain exposure to intersectional feminism, helping them understand the importance of women's issues and rights advocacy across different fields. As part of this project, we have developed and distributed original resources such as a series of pamphlets on intersectional feminism, and a curated collection of intersectional cultural works.

The Capital Foundation is a well-established philanthropic initiative that has been operational in New Delhi for several years. Their primary focus is on providing material support for the education of children and young adults from underserved backgrounds, and have collaborated extensively with the Delhi Council for Child Welfare, and other organizations and schools, to sponsor education costs for dozens of underprivileged children and young adults in the city.

The funds raised through this initiative will go towards the Capital Foundation's educational work, with particular emphasis on educating children and young adults about women's empowerment.
