Women in India are conditioned not to speak. They are taught that they are always wrong. So a lot of issues remain within the closed walls of family-like domestic violence, sexual harassment, child abuse, etc. Every hour a woman in India is killed for not bringing dowry. 97% of the child sexual abuse here is committed by the family members of the affected children! Who is going to talk about these issues? The Blue Club is a non-profit grassroots organization that has been amplifying the voices of the most oppressed women in India for the past five years. Why do we work specifically with marginalised women?

We believe in the bottom-up approach instead of the filter-down approach.  The women belonging to behind these voices are the ones that have built this nation with their sweat and tears. They represent the most important labor force in our nation. Whether rations shops or public transport, it is the women who have to access them regularly, and hence shouldn't they have the utmost say in their setup? Therefore we reach out to the most vulnerable voices and then turn them into a powerful call against injustice through our leadership training. We also tirelessly work towards representing these voices in the mainstream media and also make sure that they are heard by the policymakers. Without the valuable inputs from grassroots women - no law, no policy, no agency, nothing else can work for the betterment of this country.

We grab the mic and hand it over to the voiceless through our free media workshops, educational programs, safe spaces for victims, sensitization campaigns, etc. We truly believe that every single voice has limitless potential and every single voice has the ability to change the world! We are a very small emerging organization with zero resources to support our work. We are raising a very minimal amount to help our team continue doing the work for the duration of the next year.

The money raised will go towards support for the women who we are working with, organizing more workshops throughout India, supporting educational programs for young women, leadership training, and running safe spaces for gender-based violence victims from marginalized backgrounds specifically during the COVID 19 pandemic.
