In Rajasthan, there are nearly 20 lakh (2 million) widowed women.
Behind that number are women living with loss, illness, loneliness, and uncertainty.
Project Sambal is our humble effort to stand beside widows only, in memory of my mother and grandmother — two women of great strength, service, and dignity. Project Sambal is a dedicated initiative of Sambhali Trust, meant only for widows.
This fund has been created in memory of the two most powerful women I knew in my family — my mother, Smt. Badan Kanwar Ji, and my grandmother, Smt. Dev Kumari Ji. They belonged to two different eras, and with their passing, two chapters of strength, service, and quiet grace came to an end.
My mother, especially, spent much of her life standing beside people in need. From her, I learned that true strength is not in speaking loudly, but in carrying responsibility with dignity and helping others without expecting anything in return.
Through Project Sambal, we hope to extend that same spirit to widows who are facing hardship, loneliness, and chronic health issues such as blood sugar, weakness, blood pressure, and heart-related concerns.
This is not a general fund for all projects of the Trust. It is a dedicated effort for widows alone.
Support through this fund will be need-based and verified, and may include health support, nutrition, temporary shelter where genuinely required, and help towards stability and self-reliance.
This is my humble tribute to two women whose strength shaped my life. Through this effort, their memory will continue to support widows who need care, dignity, and a reason to stand again.
If this cause speaks to you, I request you to support and share this fundraiser.
