Inspired by Swami Vivekananda's clarion call, Padma Palit, a lawyer by profession decided to dedicate her life for the cause of underprivileged girls and Vivekanand Shobha Jeevan Jyoti Kendra was born to provide them with a safe homely environment.

Housed in Nallasopara, Maharashtra, the centre now has 25 girl child studying in local schools and colleges. Their success stories are inspiration to the society - many of the girls after completing their education and or vocational training have taken up jobs or have settled with families after getting married.

This journey was made possible by the generous support of host of well wishers. But 2020, turned out to be a different year. Because of Covid-19 many of the fundraising events like the cultural shows have been shelved and this NGO is staring at an uncertain future with massive fund shortfall threatening to put the lives and especially the education of the girls in jeopardy.

I therefore call upon all of you to lend your helping hand to support the education and well being of the underprivileged girls. With all your support we can bring the smile back on their face!
