Dear Friends and Well-Wishers,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to seek your support for our dear friend, Vipin Khandelwal, who met with a life-threatening accident on 28th December 2025 while holidaying with his family in Nashik.
Vipin slipped and fell nearly 15 feet into a valley, landing on his back. This tragic fall caused severe spinal cord injuries, compression of spinal nerves and a completely shattered C5 & C6 vertebra. He was immediately admitted to Sahyadri Hospital, Nashik, where he underwent spinal surgery to decompress the nerves and reconstruct the C5-C6 vertebrae. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he remained on a ventilator in the ICU for almost a month before being shifted to Pune for advanced medical care, while still on vertebra.

For nearly eight weeks now, Vipin has been in the ICU, mostly on the Ventilator. During this time, he has bravely fought and survived several life-threatening complications, including severe arrhythmia, blood clots in both lungs, pulmonary issues, and continuous fluctuations in blood pressure.
He is currently awake and alert, supported by a tracheostomy. Another corrective surgery is planned in the coming weeks to stabilise the implanted spinal discs and strengthen his back with out which rehabilitation cannot be done.

At present, Vipin is completely paralysed from the chest down. He has limited sensation in his hands, but no sensation below the naval. His analytical mind is good, and he is keeping his spirits up. While he is thankfully out of immediate danger, his journey toward recovery will be long, challenging, and financially overwhelming.

Vipin is the sole support for his family. He has a loving wife, a 6-year-old daughter, and elderly parents who are completely dependent on him. The mounting medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and future care needs have placed an enormous burden on the family.

We have started this fundraiser to help cover his medical treatment, long-term rehabilitation, covering for loss of income due to the expected long hospitalisation all to provide some financial security for his family—especially his young daughter.
