My mother, Vimal Devi has been fighting against Multiple Myeloma (a type of blood cancer), and is currently undergoing treatment in Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. She was diagnosed with in December 2020 after she broke her right arm. Her Biopsy, PET CT & MRI reports show the lumps of cancer cells in right arm, ribs, lungs and in some bones of the body.

I lost my father in March 2020 who was the only earning member. Then, my mother stood like a pillar of strength for our family and took great care of all of us. But she has been battling this deadly disease and suffering immense pain for more than a month now. The cancer has also put up a lot of financial pressure on me & my brother, but both of us are still unemployed or in college.

Her condition is complicated because this type of cancer is very rare and weakens the bones of the patient like wet pieces of cotton, which results in bone fracturing from here & there. My mother also broke her right arm which was an effect of cancer. Doctors have advised that surgery is not feasible, seeing the poor health of my mother & growth of plasma cells over her bones. So, Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy are the only options left.

This treatment in the first year of diagnosis will cost atleast Rs. 5,00,000. We are unable to pay for the treatment since we are a financially weak family of 6 people with no earning member after the untimely demise of my father. We live in a rented house in Patna & expensive tests like biopsy and Pet CT scan and the travel to Kolkata have used up most of our savings.

We are unable to afford the cost of the required treatment for the cancer and urgently need financial support.
