The lockdown and loss of livelihood amidst social distancing rules is disproportionately affecting migrant workers, daily wage-earners, the urban poor and other vulnerable groups. Hunger, lack of sanitary kits and loss of income to buy basic essentials have left many helpless.

Seasonal migrants are landless or small/marginal farmers who have no livelihood opportunities. Seasonal migration is often a response strategy to this crisis of lack of job opportunities and the need to earn basic income for subsistence. These migrants are more likely to be socially deprived and poor while having obtained little to no education, with minimal or no assets.

Funds collected through this campaign will be utilized to transport migrants to their hometowns with essential safety materials (such as masks, sanitizers & soap), daily utilities & essentials (such as food grains & food packages), emergency financial protection.
