Choco is a street dog, about 11 years old and was seen about a week back, after being run-over by a vehicle in a busy part of Chennai.
He lay there with both hind legs crushed, with multiple fractures and a broken thigh bone. He was howling in pain, when someone reported it, to one of the volunteers in our group.
Two volunteers went to check and couldn't catch him or get him to eat, since he was growling in pain. The following day, we got through to a dog catcher and caught him and took him to a vet. X rays were taken that day, and painkillers were given and he was boarded for one night. He is still in considerable pain. He cannot stand up or move much.
Choco can be saved if we get a complex surgery done that will take care of his broken bones. He will also need intensive post op care and rest for at least 4 weeks after the surgery. The surgery has to be done immediately.
We want to save Choco's life.
Because every life matters.
We want to do all we can for that.
We are a small group of animal lovers in Chennai, who have come together to support the needs of street animals, especially dogs, and working up until now, with small contributions from members towards a group fund.
The cost of Choco's surgery is too much for us to be able to bear from our own individual resources. And so, we are looking for support towards this, from people across the globe, whose hearts Choco touches.
