    This fundraiser will benefit

    from Salem, Tamil Nadu

This is Raghav and I am here to raise funds for the medical treatment of my mother Veena who is 50 years old, we live in Salem, Tamil Nadu. My father is 63 years old. I have a brother and sister. I am 23 years, recently joined a job as an apprentice in a media company in Feb 2021 at Chennai.

Our entire family (except me, as I was on Job at Chennai) was tested COVID-19 positive on May 5th, 2021. My brother and sister had recovered after 8 days. But my Mother and Father had to be admitted to Shanmuga Hospital (Private Hospital) at Salem due to breathing difficulties and lower blood oxygen levels.
By God’s grace, my father recovered after 6 days of hospital stay and he is recovering very slowly at home. Doctors advised him to take complete rest to recover completely to avoid reinfection and suggested it might take longer for his recovery due to his old age.

My Mother has been in ICU care since she was admitted into the hospital on May 13, 2021 as her Lung CT scan score was 16/25. Her blood oxygen level was 86 %, hence she has been on oxygen support since May 13th in the ICU ward. Her SPO2 (blood oxygen level) wasn't improving, it dropped to 70 % even with a high dose of oxygen feed via nose. Hence the doctors decided to connect her up to Mechanical Ventilator (tube inserted through the mouth into the lungs) on Feb 21st with full sedation. On May 23rd doctors performed tracheostomy (hole in the throat) to feed the ventilator tube via her throat directly. She was on Ventilator for 9 days and on May 31st doctors closed the hole in her throat temporarily and started to feed oxygen through her nose to check if she can sustain without ventilator. Doctors said that we might have to switch back to Ventilator use if she isn't able to sustain with oxygen feed via nose/mask. Her SP02 level blood oxygen level) is at 91 with oxygen feed, but the level drops to 86 when they remove oxygen.
Per doctors she might have to be in ICU care for another 7 to 9 days to recover, sustain without any external oxygen support. Then she can be shifted to a non-ICU bed without oxygen for 3 to 5 days of observation and can be discharged only if she recovers to breath herself without external oxygen feed.
Today (June 2nd, 2021) is the 20th day since he was admitted into ICU, we spent nearly 8.5 Lakhs for my mother's treatment and 1.5 lakhs for my father's treatment so far by raising loans, borrowing from friends and family.
We would need another 5 lakhs (Rupees 5,00,000) to continue my mother's treatment, post discharge hospital follow up care to close hole in her throat, speech therapy to recover her speech and it could cost more if her recovery is slow.
We are financially short to continue her treatment. I request you to kindly contribute towards the treatment and help us during this time of need. Each contribution is very important for us.
Please help us raise this amount by clicking on the donate button and sharing this page with your friends and family.
We are grateful for your help, wishes and prayers for my family.
Thank you.
