The immediate goal:
Deploy 100 Oxygen Concentrators and other medical supplies like Oximeters, Temperature guns in various Tier 2/Tier 3 towns & rural India through our Last Mile Partners by first week of June 2021.

Our overall target:
Our overall target is, to deploy 500+ oxygen concentrators and additional medical supplies like Oximeters, Temperature Guns to tier 2/3 towns and rural areas across India (see updates for more).

Our Mission:
Our intent is to use these OCs, Oximeters, Temperature Guns  and additional Medical Aid as a starting point & enable better medical infrastructure for rural India over long term. We will keep posting on how this mission evolves as we go forward.

Why are we doing this (the Covid-19 crisis in rural India):
India is going through great crisis, infectious strains of Covid-19 along with oxygen shortages has led to loss of lives, families and dreams for many. The following articles outline the impact, of the 2nd wave (till 23rd May) along with the magnitude and acuteness of the problem that lie ahead:  Reuters,  India Today, Times Of India
Initially the SOSs were mainly coming from the cities but the locus of this virus has gradually shifted towards tier 2 and tier 3 cities/towns and rural areas. India’s rural areas are the soft underbellies where Covid-19 continues to wreak havoc in the absence of sufficient medical infrastructure. Our mission is to help India fight back and save as many lives as possible.

Who are we:
We are the alumni of IIT (ISM) – Dhanbad. Established in 1926, ISM is among the oldest institutions for higher education in India.
Multiple ISM fundraisers (including this) have procured and deployed over 50 OCs across tier 2/3 cities and rural areas of the country.

Starting 24th May, all the ISM Alumni are joining hands through this fundraiser initiative to help India.

How are we different:
  • Our ability to reach out and partner with Tier2/3 and rural healthcare organisations
  • No Overhead - Zero Cost from the team involved from fundraising to deployment and monitoring. All operational costs covered by our NGO Partner Srijan Ek Soch
  • Ongoing visibility and analytics of the deployment through our partner digital platform Oxyshare
  • Our commitment to go extra mile to ensure transparency through our regular updates on procurement and deployment
