Hello everyone! My name is Kabir Hans. I am a student at the Modern School, Barakhamba Road and I am the founder of Project Groundwork (https://www.groundworkindia.com/), where our goal is to help raise awareness in underprivileged communities about environmental health and employ them with skills and knowledge that will help them tackle extreme weather events caused by climate change. These include heatwaves, droughts, floods, temperature dips, etc. Unfortunately, the economically weaker sections of society are more vulnerable to these weather events. Through various initiatives, we aim to help ease and alleviate the strain caused by climate change on these communities.
I have realised that while education and awareness are long-term interventions, there is a need to provide relief to these communities in the short term as well. We are doing this by making Groundwork Kits for at-risk communities, which include ORS packets, glucose bars, umbrellas, battery-run handheld fans, and towels. This fundraiser aims to collect funds so we can donate as many of these kits as possible in this current heatwave. This fundraiser is jointly presented with Hamari Pahchan (https://www.hamaripahchan.org/), our NGO partner in this project. Please donate generously!
