Across classrooms in India, a quiet but critical challenge persists students from underserved communities often struggle to express themselves in English. They have the thoughts, ideas, and dreams, but not the platform or the confidence to voice them. This lack of spoken English skills doesn’t just limit classroom participation it affects their self-esteem, future opportunities, and ability to dream big.

That’s where Speaking Seeds steps in- We are a volunteer-led initiative that offers free online workshops and mentorship in spoken English and communication skills to students in Grades 5–8 from low-income backgrounds.

Our Vision: English should not be a barrier to access opportunities.

The Students We Work With- The children we serve come from under-resourced communities where English is not part of daily life. In their homes, schools, and neighborhoods, exposure to English is almost absent. Unlike their privileged peers who grow up with access to English books, media, and conversation, these students rarely get a chance to listen to, speak, or practice English.
This lack of exposure creates a silent barrier:

• Their voices go unheard in classrooms.
• They miss opportunities to practice public speaking and communication skills.
• Their confidence suffers, even when they have ideas, curiosity, and dreams.

How Speaking Seeds Helps
Speaking Seeds exists to change this story. We provide structured spoken English programs and mentorship to help students build confidence and communication skills.

• 3-Month Spoken English Course: A structured journey where students gain not just language, but also confidence in self-expression.
• Weekly Programs: Continuous workshops where students learn through practice, activities, and real conversations.
  
• Mentorship: One-on-one guidance from volunteers who encourage students to use their voice.
• Global Exposure: Through remote learning, students connect with mentors across regions, gaining perspectives far beyond their local classrooms.
  

Till now, we have:

• Impacted 500+ students
• Engaged 200+ volunteer mentors who dedicate time and skills to support students
  

Our Goal for 2025–26
We are scaling to reach 3,500 students in one year:

• Around 300 students every month through our weekly programs
• Hundreds more through our 3-month Spoken English course
  

This scale means more children will find their voice and gain the confidence they deserve.

We are an early-stage organization with a bold vision but limited resources. To make this growth possible, we need help covering both program costs (platforms, curriculum, assessments) and operational costs (a dedicated program lead to ensure quality and smooth execution).
