As a part of the initiative, we have come up with the idea of setting up a centre wherein activities related to promoting our  local languages, cultures and traditions, and keeping them alive amidst ourselves shall be taken up.The primary idea is to create a  library cum cultural centre which shall serve as a platform for people to flock in and contribute towards keeping our rich indigenous history, culture, literature and traditions alive.
Hello, I am an integral memver of the Executive Committee  of Ujjeevit Foundation - an organisation that works on youth centric issues. Ujjeevit Foundation is a registered organisation based out of Guwahati and is managed by a team of young people passionate about positively changing the world around them.শিপাৰ সন্ধানত - in search of our rootsশিপাৰ সন্ধানত is a campaign started by Ujjeevit Foundation to popularize and promote the indigenous languages, cultures and regional history of Assam through storytelling, songs, dances, books and more, particularly among the younger population. In today’s globalised world, more and more languages and cultures around the world face the risk of disappearing from the face of the globe and this has been acknowledged by no less than the United Nations which observed the year 2019 as the Year of Indigenous Languages (IY2019). Languages and cultures act not only as tools of communication and social integration, but are markers of our identity, and the young people of today have a crucial role to play in safeguarding their indigenous identities.
Why the fundraiser?
In these testing times, we have envisioned to create an institution that will act as a library cum cultural centre which shall serve as a platform for people to flock in and contribute towards keeping our rich indigenous history, culture, literature and traditions alive. The funds raised will go towards setting up the place for the centre, buying books and in other activities to ensure that the centre turns out to be a lively place for social and cultural participation.
