Back Ground Information and Need of the Project :
Panchmahals, Mahisagar and Dahod Districts are predominantly a tribal Taluka.
66% of the population is tribal . According to the District Gazetter, the main
tribe is Bhil. However, with the reclassification of caste and tribes, most of the
tribals in the taluka now consider themselves as falling in the category of OBC
or other backward caste. In the past the bhils were the gatherers of wild fruits
and forest products to spend their lives. They were mainly from hunting
gathering society. With the cutting down of the forests, the Bhil have been
forced to rely on one crop yield annually from their limited land holdings and
so supplement their income through seasonal migration for work. The literacy
rate is law. Health status of the people is poor in the rural and interior area.
Organisation strives for the upliftment of the SC, ST and OBC students.
The organisation have established several establishments for the said purpose. SC,
ST students coming from the targeted areas need for focus for their overall
The said Girls Secondary School provides educational facilities to said SC, ST
girls and boys. This is a Non-Granted School. Organizational managements
want to provide a better educational environment for their overall development.
About 110 students get benefits from the said school. The said students come
from poor families of tribal and interior areas of kalol taluka of panch mahals
district. Their parents doing farming (which is not earning to enough for their
daily bread and doing constructing labor) It is very hard for them to spent
money on education for their children, especially for girls. Organisation’s
officer bearers and staff members aware and sensitize them towards the
importance of education. And provide education to their children for free.
