THE PROBLEM
Education facilities in the Chhattisgarh tribal regions are not good enough. Most of the villagers can’t afford fees.
- A number of qualified youths/teachers are not available for tuition or night study centres in the villages.
- Most of the girl children help their mothers in household work and take care of their siblings, and boys help the families by grazing the cattle in the field, which supports family earning in a small way.
- Parents often migrate from their living places to do menial jobs.
- People are not aware of the importance of education, as they have never had access to proper education themselves.
To address this issue, Life spring foundation has established matriculation schools in the tribal area for the benefit of tribal children. We used to run our schools with the help of sponsorship and donations. we have small education canter, with affiliation from LKG to 8th standard with a strength of 170 students. At present, we run this centres through loans. As we are fast running out of funds, we are seeking monetary help so that we can keep helping tribal children get a good education.
THE IMPACT
The children will be relieved from drudgery and illiteracy. About 20 villages consisting of 1200 tribal families will be motivated for children’s schooling.
Drop-out rate of tribal children will be reduced.
More girl children in the tribal community will be sent to primary education.
This project will be able to address the issues of primary education, health and social environment of tribal children with a social integration component of their family.
It is the first generation education project for the tribal community. The first generation effort for education will continue without stop.
