Since schools are closed due to COVID-19 pandemic, tribal students could not get proper education even though they are willing to learn. So we have planned to teach them at their place of living. It will help them to improve their knowledge. Our aim is to continue the same even after the pandemic has ended. We have planned to provide education from kindergarten to job placements.
Only in recent years, tribal people of Tamil Nadu got awareness about education and its benefits. Governments and NGOs play a vital role in creating awareness among them. But due to COVID-19 pandemic issues, the schools are closed. About 99% of the tribal students are from uneducated family backgrounds. Although the schools are providing online classes, the tribal students could not afford to buy gadgets to have education. They struggle a lot to satisfy their daily needs; they are doing daily wage work, and so they cannot afford to pay the tuition too.
What are we trying to do?
With the funds raised, we, Phoenix Organizational Trust, have planned to provide basic education with the help of our volunteers and trained employees of our organization.
We have aimed to buy computers, projectors, writing boards, notebooks, and stationary items for more than 200 tribal students.
We have planned to go to their place and stay with them and teach them in a practical manner as well as identify an individual’s talent. We will help them to reach success according to their own interest. In short, we will change and shape their lifestyle and make them get equal opportunity in society.
Where will this be conducted?
Initially, we aim to support the Irula Community people who live in the delta region of Pudukkottai District of Tamil Nadu. About 300 families are living in and around the region. More than 600 students are there. Initially, we have planned to provide education for 100 students, and after a couple of months we will extend our service to other students depending upon the funds raised.
How can you support it?
Tribal students of Tamil Nadu need your help on an urgent basis. Please make your valuable contributions count. Even though some are working from home, things are a bit difficult for those who work all day with little resources.
If you feel like donating a thousand rupees, make it two thousand. If you are able to give a hundred rupees, you can still double it. Humanity has never been more in need of money. You are literally helping a community to lift themselves socially equal. Each rupee you provide right now will help a generation to learn and grow.
Income Tax Exemption is available under Section 80G for all your donations.
Will my money really help?
We would have asked the same question if we were you. Everyone deserves to know how their contribution is spent. Hence, we will disclose all the transaction information.
