I am Mickey Rai and I am the assistant general secretary of Shamakami - The first Community Based Organization (CBO) in the State of Meghalaya for the sexually marginalized population which got registered on the 27th of January 2010, under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act, 12 of 1983 bearing Registration Number:- E.16/19/2013/110.
I am here to raise funds to help 20 transwomen from Shillong who have lost their job due to the ongoing lockdown. They used to work at tea-shop or cafeteria as waitress; beautician at beauty parlours and as househelp. They had migrated from various parts of Meghalaya to find opportunities in the capital Shillong. Many of them are not getting support from their families due to their preferred gender identities. Now they face lots of financial problems as they lost their job due to the ongoing lockdown. They have been staying in rented rooms and earning daily wage. They are now faced with threats to vacate or be thrown out of their rented rooms as well as no money for food, medicines and other sanitary and hygiene needs.
I request all to donate generously to provide relief to the 20 Tranwoman from the violence, mental agony, harassment and the sense of despair and helplessness they are faced with amidst the onging pandemic and lockdown. I also urge upon LGBTQIA activist and organisations and those who support and closely work with LGBTQIA+ community to help. I also urge all the generous personalities and human right organisation to help defend the 20 traswoman from further violence, agony and Covid_19.
I intend to raise Rs 160000 to help them with their Rent + Dry Ration + Medicines and other sanitary and hygiene needs.

- Partial help to pay rent for 2 month for 20 transwomen = INR 2000 * 20 * 2 = 800000
- Allowance for Dry Ration + Medicine and Sanitary needs for 20 Transwoman for 2 months = INR 2000 * 20 * 2 = 80000
- Total amount = INR 80000 + INR 80000
