I began noticing that she had suddenly lost a shocking amount of weight in the matter of a few days. Unable to tell what was wrong with her, we fed her food and tried to keep her as comfortable as possible. But her condition only seemed to deteriorate, in a week her hind legs were paralyzed and she fell on the road multiple times while trying to walk. She stopped eating and she was slowly dying in front of our eyes. We were trying to find hospitals and genuine shelters that were willing to pick her up and treat her, but were met with dead ends. All four of her legs were paralyzed and she could no longer move nor sleep, as it hurt to lie on her side. She cried for hours together and we were helpless, until we came across a hospital that was willing to pick her up from our place and treat her eventhough she is an unvaccinated stray. They have been treating her and her condition is monitored 24x7, but her treatment is expensive as she has a disease that is similar to dengue in humans, but only much more fatal. She has suffered damage to her brain and has recurrent fits, she's still in critical care fighting for her life but she's a strong girl who hung on even though her symptoms are so rare they only affect 1 in 25 dogs. She has been diagnosed with Ehrlichia and exhibits rare symptoms, she's fighting for her life and she needs your help! All lives are equal and with your help, Beam will get the love and care she was denied as a stray!
