The Gender Lab works towards empowering adolescents and young adults to question existing gender narratives through critical thinking and meaningful engagement with their communities.
Through our team and The Gender Lab Fellowship, we have worked with 35000+ girls and boys across 200+ schools in Mumbai, Delhi, Indore, Goa, and 45 villages in Jind District, Haryana.

During this pandemic, we have been talking to the schools to understand their needs better. Students from 70% of our schools that we work with belong to low-income communities. While we have a huge network of schools, we have identified 5 schools in Mumbai and 1 in Delhi who are looking for support around groceries and sanitation products for families of students in their communities.

Parents of most of these students are daily wage workers, rickshaw drivers, household staff and their income has been badly hit during this phase. It has made it difficult for them to sustain regular food supplies. Our schools are connecting with their students and supporting them and their staff in the best possible way. We have deep relationships with these schools and students. And we would love to extend our support as much as possible during these uncertain times.

We are supporting 500 families of our Mumbai based schools i.e. are Holy Star High School (Malwani, Malad), Cosmos High School(Malwani, Malad), Holy Mother English School (Malwani, Malad), Anjuman Islam High School (Versova, Andheri west) and Swami Vivekanand Education Society (Dahisar East) and additionally staff members of Sai Nath Public School, Tigri Extension, New Delhi.
