While the world is at a standstill, there is another looming problem that is ignored by many. The distribution of books and reading material has taken a backseat while India recuperates from this deadly virus.
They say, “books are a man's best friend.” During this tough time, The Federation of Indian Publishers & Frontlist Media have come together with an initiative that aims to benefit readers and people from the publishing industry.
“Kitab Nahi toh Vikas Nahi”
Our initiative aims to ease the anxiety and stress that is being built up due to the devastating consequences that this pandemic has brought upon people. All means of communication and media are filled with information and visuals that are extremely disheartening and negative.
With this initiative, we are going to offer books to people who can not afford them right now due to various reasons, personal, financial and otherwise, but need them in order to grow and come out of this pandemic with not just grief but knowledge. While the situation is hard for everyone, we are hoping that these books will help people cope in these grim times.
This initiative will also benefit the publishing industry as some of the proceeds from this donation drive will also go towards promoting the vaccination and its awareness in the publishing industry.
Requesting fellow members of the publishing fraternity and the book lovers from across the country to contribute and be responsible netizens.
