‘For your tomorrow, we gave our today’…said the martyrs who gave their life for the honor of our nation & left behind their families.

Dec 2021 marks 50 years of the 1971 Indo Pak War which ended with the Pakistan Armed Forces surrendering to India. Battle of Longewala was a fierce battle fought during this war where the Pakistani Army was decimated by a synergized effort of the Indian Army & Indian Air Force. While the nation celebrates this joyous occasion, let us spare a thought for our brethren at arms, who sacrificed their lives for the tricolor in that battle.

I’m Nikhil Laishram, serving in the Indian Army for 8 years & an ultra-marathoner by passion. To commemorate the golden jubilee of our victory at Longewala & honour our martyrs from 168 Field Regiment (Longewala) & 1853 Light Battery, who brought us glory in the battle, I’ll be running a 100 mile (160 km) ultra marathon on 18 Dec 21 from Jaisalmer to Longewala.

Please join me in my endeavor to express our gratitude to the families of these martyrs.
