BRM is a youth movement building leadership through social action.
We are running our annual crowdfunding campaign with the belief that lasting change in a city is best achieved by citizen power. We are a volunteer-driven movement with low overhead costs. BRM is pioneering an approach of citizen-led, citizen-funded social change. Your funds will help create a citizen-engagement and youth leadership model that will lead to active citizens, connected communities and sustainable cities. These projects will enable us to test and verify initiatives and models which can be replicated across communities, cities and perhaps even countries.
Currently, we are doing a series of constructive, potentially viral experiments engaging citizens that generate hope, inspiration and impact. Collectively, these experiments are called “The City of Hope”. These include:
- Citizen Games is a card game to initiate conversations among citizens about Mumbai city
- Citizens’ Manifesto on the theme of governance of the city
- Facebook Live with prominent citizens about active citizenship
- Citizen Audit of a ward in Mumbai
- One day Act-a-thons to initiate action around civic with the youth
The general notion about young people is that they are very casual and uninterested in important things. BRM is engaging these young people and changing this narrative by showcasing that a young person is mature and capable of bringing change.
These young innovators call for your support to continue engaging in edgy experiments and innovation.
