** No matter how big or small, every contribution matters**

Hi, my name is Tazim Fatima and I belong to a traditional, middle-class Indian family. I didn't have the privilege to study in preschool like most of you because of financial constraints. However, somehow, I got admission in class 4th and my journey to dream big started. I am an educationist with a Bachelor's in Education degree from Amity University (passed with distinction) and have worked with Teach for India as a fellow for 2 years. I was teaching underprivileged students of 6th-8th grades in a low-income government school in South Delhi and have initiated various projects in different communities of Delhi until May 2020 when my contract ended. But the passion to eliminate educational inequity by working with world leaders on a global level continued. In the long run, I see myself working with government bodies, national and international organizations to improve the quality of education and to ensure the right to education and rights within education.

To chase my dreams I need to equip myself with the right knowledge, skills, and mindset along with global exposure with budding leaders and experts. Hence, I am willing to pursue MA-Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Roehampton, London, and have received the offer letter. As I am a meritorious student and have secured 9.42 CGPA out of 10 in my under graduation, I have received the International Excellence Scholarship of 4000 pounds which is bringing the tuition fees down from 14,151 pounds to 10,151 pounds. 

I have excelled in both academics and co-curricular activities during my school and college days. I am passionate to serve society and have been an active participant in community service. Some of my achievements include designing a mural for Lucknow Metro Stations and facilitating a session at Delhi University in the Asian Undergraduate Summit with 50+ leaders from across the Asian countries. Additionally, I had been felicitated by Mr. Salman Khurshid ( ex-Cabinet Minister for Law and Justice, and for Minority Affairs), Mrs. Dimple Yadav (a member of the Parliament and wife of the ex-Chief Minister of UP, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav), and The Times of India group for merit in the past.

However, 3 years ago my father retired (with no governmental position he isn't getting a pension either), my mother being a homemaker, I carry financial constraints.  My brother was earning until March 2020 but because of the current pandemic outbreak and widespread unemployment, he too has lost his job. Currently, he is working on a contract with a Bangalore based organization with no certainty of regularity in the job. As his job is not permanent and my parents are not working either, getting an education loan is difficult for me. I'm somehow managing the living expenses for my Master's but I need support to cover my tuition fees.

Through this course, I wish to understand the various social, political, and economic factors contributing to complex problems in the education sector and to find data-driven solutions to these problems. My decision to apply to the University of Roehampton for this course emerged out of a strong conviction to give back to my people, and especially the children who deserve an excellent education. I want to leverage the learnings from this program to solve the crisis existing within the education system by adopting a top to bottom approach. This course will enable me to identify loopholes in the existing systems and further recommend improvisations by doing extensive research. It will help me to work towards my goal of enabling and equipping our citizens to drive social change. The balance of leadership, management, and research would enable me to become a system-level change agent and I will be able to achieve my dream to work with the Ministry of Human Resource and Development on the same. I have a deep interest in the program and your support and contribution will allow me to achieve the same.
