Danza Performing Arts is a dance school based in Gurgaon since 2008 where we practice jazz, contemporary dance, theater music, yoga and meditation to explore the “self” through creative expression. All ages starting 5 years explore their inner world through arts in regular classes and workshops with us.Our website for more information is here.

Creation is becoming harder and harder every year since the world is tilting more and more towards materialistic aims. Last year was very hard also as the only theater in Gurgaon shut down its operations and left us in lurch! To raise funds to continue being creative, we reached out to community for help. BEaPUMPKIN! Its great! was a result of crowdfunding.
As time is presenting us with adversity, we use it as opportunity and continue wading against all odds to keep creating. In this process of struggle we found the idea for this years production as well! Its about freedom!
Freedom, a word on everyone’s mind these days but what is it we want freedom from? “Stop suffering your freedom” is the starting point of this inquiry. The production is about realizing that one actually needs freedom from one’s own self, freedom from mindlessness in daily living and hence freedom from the “dumb”! Herd mentality, addiction to mobile phones and hence “restless-bed syndrome”, moral policing, being in toxic relationships even though we can make a choice to leave, losing our own identity and freedom to speak in all this madness, are few ideas we explored with dance and physical theater.

Kids, adults, dancers, actors, musicians, amateurs and professionals, a cast and crew of about 45 members will share the joy of researching life using arts as a tool with you all.
But we need your bit to this much needed energy of फ्री - DUMB! The funds raised from this will be used for rentals, equipment hiring, show videography and photography, properties we need, production costs and creative fee for our fabulous loving collaborators who make the students shine in their explorations of self.
