From Survivors of Human Trafficking to Entrepreneurs: Help Us Rebuild 51 Lives with Dignity

Once trafficked and stigmatized, today survivors of human trafficking are fighting for their right to rebuild their lives with dignity—through livelihoods and entrepreneurship.“Meet Pooja”, her life changed forever when she was just 16 years old. Betrayed by her own relatives, drugged, and sold into a strange city, she was held captive, sedated, brutally tortured, and mentally abused.
After 8 months, she was rescued—but coming home wasn’t easy. Her community and relatives shunned her. She sank into depression, even battling suicidal thoughts.
It took immense courage and years of trust in herself to rise above the stigma. Today, Pooja is married, runs a small grocery shop, and makes homemade floor cleaners. She is rebuilding her life brick by brick.
But like Pooja, hundreds of survivors still struggle every day—without sustainable livelihoods or income to support their families.
According to NCRB data, 2,250 instances of human trafficking were reported in 2022, compared to 2,189 cases in 2021—indicating a 2.8% increase.

ILFAT: Survivors Leading the Way
ILFAT (Integrated Leaders Forum Against Trafficking) is a national forum led by survivors, for survivors. With 2,814 members across India, we believe every survivor deserves not just rescue, but a chance to thrive.

That’s why we are launching the “Survivor to Entrepreneur” campaign.

Our Goal: Raise ₹12,00,000 to support 51 survivors in starting their own small, locally rooted businesses, empowering them with dignity, independence, and the ability to employ other survivors.

What Will These Businesses Look Like?
  • Survivors have chosen practical, sustainable livelihoods such as:
  • Tailoring & embroidery units
  • Small grocery shops & tea stalls
  • Poultry or goat farming
  • Vegetable vending & food kiosks
  • Mobile repair shops
  • Handicrafts & eco-friendly products
How Your Support Will Help
Every contribution makes a real difference:
₹500 – Raw materials for tailoring or food stalls
₹2,000 – Tools, seeds, or livestock feed
₹5,000 – Stock for a grocery shop or vegetable cart
₹5,000 – Stipend for survivors starting out
₹20,000 – Fully funds one survivor’s business setup

Your donation goes directly to setting up survivor-led businesses—covering equipment, materials, livestock, or startup capital.

Why This Matters
Survivors without income are at risk of being exploited again.
Financial independence restores dignity, hope, and safety.
Each survivor entrepreneur becomes a role model—creating jobs and inspiring others.

By supporting ILFAT, you are not just donating, you are breaking the cycle of exploitation and investing in survivor-led futures.

Call to Action
