It's time to break the silence and end the stigma surrounding periods. Menstruation is a natural process and should be treated with respect and dignity.

Period poverty is a serious issue in many countries, including India, where a significant number of women cannot afford basic menstrual hygiene products or do not have access to them.
Menstruation is a natural and normal process that occurs in the female body Menstruation is a sign that the female body is capable of reproduction and is a crucial aspect of the female reproductive system.
Being a natural process, menstruation can be challenging for many women due to cultural taboos, lack of access to menstrual hygiene products, and inadequate education on menstrual hygiene. It is essential to promote awareness and education about menstrual hygiene to ensure that women have access to safe and hygienic menstrual products and can manage their periods
comfortably.
Around 23 million girls in India drop out of school every year due to a lack of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) facilities, which include access to sanitary napkins, awareness of menstruation According to the recently released fifth round of the National Family Health Survey (2019-21), the use of unhygienic menstrual methods of protection among women (age 15-24 years) is almost three times that of their urban counterparts. Women in the same age group with no schooling are almost six times more likely to use an unhygienic method.

Hamari Pahchan NGO is working to provide menstrual hygiene products and education to women and girls in Delhi. We are also working on a full-fledged project – ‘SUKHAD aims to provide every menstruator with access to safe and healthy periods. As a part of this project, we   provide menstruators with menstrual kits (Sukhad kits), educate them regarding menstrual hygiene, and create awareness to dispel the taboo related to menstruation as well as teaching women and girls about menstrual health and hygiene.
This is also working to raise awareness about menstruation and break down the stigma surrounding it, so that women and girls can feel comfortable talking about their periods and seeking help when they need it.
