🚨 Urgent Appeal for Assistance! 🚨

Just three months ago, in the Beed district of the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, Satyabhama Parde, a woman working in the sugarcane fields faced a horrific attack from her own husband, who wielded a sickle against her. The brutality of this assault left her finger severely injured. Seven or eight years ago, she endured another vicious beating from her husband that left her leg crippled, yet she persisted, working tirelessly to provide for her family.

However, the recent instance of violence has brought Satyabhama's work to a grinding halt. Now, she finds herself living in dire circumstances with her two teenage children and her elderly mother in a tin shed on homestead (Gairan) land. Their only means of survival is the meagre income her elderly mother can gather through begging.

Adding to their plight, Satyabhama lacks essential documents like a ration card, Aadhaar card, or caste certificate, further limiting her access to support and resources. While the solidarity from the women in her village and the efforts of the MAKAAM-affiliated Mahila Ustod Kamgar Sangathan have provided some temporary relief, it's clear that more sustainable solutions are needed.

We have the opportunity to make a real difference in her life. We can enable her to pursue alternative livelihood options like goat rearing or poultry farming by providing financial assistance. This could not only ensure Satyabhama and her family's survival but also offer a pathway to long-term stability and independence.
