Guillain-Barre syndrome is a dreadful autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks the body's own nerves leading to paralysis and even stop the heart if left untreated. Manoj Barhoi, a 27/28  years old young man who had just started his life, struggling from a very economically backward family,  but with hard work  tried to support his parents and his wife by working in TATASKY,  met this fatal and rare disease. The medical expenses are nearly impossible to afford by this unfortunate family. The only treatment of this condition is to provide around 2-5 doses of Human Immunoglobulin daily, costing almost 15000 INR per dose, while the ICU and other medical charges are extra.  I know him as the family stay in our rented house. He has been admitted in ICU of Jorhat Christian Medical Centre (Formerly Mission Hospital) and I realized that the unfortunate family would not be able to afford the treatment alone, as it involves a  huge amount of money (5x15k=75k + ICU charge per day). and may unwittingly terminate the treatment due to lack of funds. Our contribution may save a precious young life, and I believe money should not be a reason not to save a life. Please let him  lead a normal life again with a little help from you.
