Subrajit Mahakul, an alumni of IIM Lucknow batch of 2007 and Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur batch of 2003, passed away in tragic circumstances last week in Nigeria.
He is survived by his wife and a young daughter who live in Mumbai, India.
Subrajit was working in the commodities sector and was traveling to Nigeria as part of his job duties. Unfortunately, he got stuck in Kano, Nigeria due to the lockdown there and fell prey to the pandemic even though a lot of people in the network tried their best to help him. Kano has been hit hard with community spread of COVID and has seen a high number of deaths in the last few days alone.
Subrajit had lost his mother in August 2019 and had joined the current company only in September 2019 after spending some time off taking care of her.
Unfortunately, the COVID 19 related complications have made the situation even tougher for the family and friends in handling this tragedy.
Let's do all that we can to support the family in these tough times.
The collected funds will be transferred to the account of Subrajit's wife and these funds will be utilized for providing financial security to the family, and will also help to secure his young child's education.
