I am Organizing this Fundraiser to support students of an NGO named Maatram Foundation based in Chennai. Website - www.maatramfoundation.com.
Maatram leads transformation in the lives of deserving underpriviledged students by providing quality sponsored education.
Maatram has sponsored over 1000 students for college education till date.
This year has been a challenging one so far. With Covid the students sponsored by the foundation are attending the colleges virtually. Most of the students do not have Computers and/or Wifi to stay connected virtually, and are behind schedule on their academics. This is an attempt to help provide a laptop to the students which will help them in their academic endeavor.
We have a quote from a distributor to provide discounted Laptop in India for Rs. 27,000 (USD $380 Approx) each. The quotation is attached in the documents sections. We are looking to purchase the laptops starting with a batch of 50 Laptops at a total price of Rs. 13,50,000 (USD $19,000) We are also collecting used Laptops in working condition. Shipping Used laptops to India from other countries has been a challenge - with Shipping rates, Customs and the time it takes to reach. We are seeking help in the following forms
1. Monetary donation via this Fundraiser
2. If you are located in India and would like to donate used laptops, please contact me via Email
3. If you are located outside India and are travelling to India in the next couple of weeks, will you be able to carry a used laptop to be personally dropped off at Maatram Foundation office. We will arrange to ship the laptop to you from a domestic donor
We are not seeking big donations from a few people, instead a small donation from a lot of donors. So, please spread the word. Together we can make this work and make a change.
