I am Rishika Correa, an educator dedicated to working with students from economically challenged backgrounds. My commitment to education goes beyond the classroom, inspiring me to launch a project that addresses a significant gap in our students' learning journey.
The students I teach have limited access to information beyond their textbooks. With restrictions on phone and social media use—implemented for safety reasons and to minimise distractions from academics—they often miss out on essential knowledge about current affairs, general awareness, and life skills that are crucial for their development as informed leaders.
To bridge this gap, I am raising funds to create a bi-monthly newsletter in an offline format free of cost. This newsletter aims to provide these students with the exposure and knowledge they desperately need. It will cover current affairs, nurture socio-emotional learning, develop leadership and life skills, and help them leverage their community to grow and drive positive change. Currently, it will service 7 schools with the goal of expansion.
