    This fundraiser will benefit

    students of GUEMPS Farooquianagar

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

The pandemic affected all of us in a lot of different ways. Some were left unemployed, some homeless, some without food, and some were forced into isolation buried with uncertainties. This went on for a while. And then, things slowly got better. We started accepting and making peace with our realities. We went in search of jobs, met our friends and family, life staggered back to normalcy and we got used to the new normal.
For some, perhaps, life is still a far stretch away from normal and far from what they knew it to be.

Amongst these, are 132 pre-adolescent kids who are wondering why their Bhaiyas, Didis, and teachers aren't coming to school to teach them anymore. Why has their learning stopped and when will they be able to go back to school again? To ensure that learning doesn't stop and the students are able to get a holistic learning experience, we are leaving no stone unturned to reach out to every student of Class 6 and 7 of GUEMPS Farooquianagar.

The School is present within the community. Most of the families are daily wagers ( auto drivers, Domestic workers, factory laborers, construction workers, Tailors, etc ). After the outbreak of the recent pandemic, most of these families have lost their jobs and are not able to earn enough to take care of their daily essentials and manage their kids' online study. Most of them have a basic keypad phone. Due to this reason, there is a very low access level in virtual classes. Even though the kids and their families are highly invested and want to study, their inability to afford smartphones to continue with the virtual form of learning is increasing the inequality in the learning of kids.
This fundraiser is for these children and their families and it aims to:
  • Provide a smartphone to those children who cannot afford it to ensure equality in learning among all students.
  • Provide emergency medical helps to the kids and their families.
  •  Provide printed worksheets to kids to practice concepts and questions learned in a virtual class.

We believe that no pandemic should stop one to practice their fundamental rights! Help us in our efforts to ensure the Right to Equality and Right to Education by Contributing any amount from your end. Let us together stop this pandemic from becoming another reason for the existing poverty loop. Let us provide a device and bring a smile to Sufiya's face who is waiting to learn virtually. Let us help Rehan with medical expenses. So, On the occasion of this Diwali and Children's day let us donate and light up the life of these kids.
