In July 2025, Light Link was initiated with the core belief that light is a fundamental right. The very real and tangible problem of electricity access in India's rural communities is what this social intervention aims to address.

Whilst it is a fact that there have been national efforts to increase access to electricity, many households still have inconsistent and sometimes nonexistent electricity. In addition to being inconvenient, the absence of light and electricity has a significant negative influence on children's academic performance. It directly interferes with their ability to learn and study smoothly. Thereby, a lack of reliable electricity and light contributes directly to poverty cycles and pushes families toward risky solutions like kerosene lamps, ones that compromise safety. Though access has been better, almost 7 million individuals in India continue to be deprived of reliable energy sources as per recent UN reports, with common power outages and financial constraints adding to these problems.

Light Link provides holistic solutions with strategic interventions. The project starts by carrying out a needs assessment survey with the Light Insights Questionnaire to find out how light influences study hours, safety, and learning of the students. From this insight, the Light the Way Donation Drive will raise money to buy quality, long-lasting solar lamps. These lamps will then be stributed directly to students in need in Bangalore, through our Lamp for Learning Campaign.

We are initiating the Light The Way Fundraiser, together with our NGO partner Hamari Pahchan, to raise INR 50,000. These funds will directly go towards the purchasing and distribution of these solar lamps. This will enable us to widen our reach, crucial to bolstering our efforts! Your donation will help ensure that a child's potential is not limited. Certainly not by the lack of reliable electricity. Your contributions will help us in providing them with not just light, rather - opportunity, safety, and a conducive learning environment.
