It has been nearly a year since I joined the Teach for India fellowship. Today, I find myself constantly growing and thriving in the midst of beautiful 7th, 8th and 9th graders. I currently teach in a low-income private school called Shree Ganga Vidya Niketan High (SGV) School in Kadugodi along with my co-fellows Ram and Sona.
SGV School, Students and Environment
SVG School is a privately run school catering to the lower middle-income group. Students are from lower middle-income groups. It has a multi-cultural and multi-religious mix of happy and bubbly students. Both the parents work, often as daily wagers, housekeepers, carpenter, plumbers. In few families, mothers are the only bread earners. They get to spend very little time with their children either for their education or growth and development.
Need for immediate funds :
This fundraiser campaign is to help the children retain their seats in the school by paying the fees they are finding hard to pay such that they do not lose out on the fine education they most definitely deserve. We fellows from TFI have already contributed from our pockets; but, we now realize that to keep this initiative going is to ensure a steady stream of funds.
The parents want their children to continue getting educated but they might have to withdraw their children due to the pressure of fee payment.
We earnestly and urgently solicit funds from Benevolent donors in improving the lives of our children and the creation of responsible citizens in our country. It would be a great and timely support in helping the children further their studies in the school.
We are grateful for your help!
