The Health Ministry advisory has asked everyone to stay indoors from 11-5 pm because of the heatwave. Unfortunately not everyone can afford to do that. Informal vendors have to sell their goods and services between these times. For security guards with 12 hour shifts, we provide coolers. We also provide coolers to househelp at a subsidized rate. Each cooler costs around Rs 4,000. This one time cost makes summers equitable for those who are hit the hardest by it.
