Gochi had it rough as a child. With thousands of mites crawling on her skin, she ran from one drain to another looking for some respite. Found in the months of lockdown, with no one around to provide her with medical aid and food, Gochi- our orphaned pup’s life was just a matter of time and timing. But the universe had a plan for Gochi, she was destined to be found.

She looked nothing like what she does today. We could count the hair on her body and tail was thinner than my little finger. Her skin was shrivelled up and with no fat reserves in her body, she would shiver even under a fan.

Despite all the discomfort she was in, nothing could break her spirit, she was and still remains, a darling. Ever ready to give kissies one too many. All she ever asks in return is just loads of belly rubs (often, between work) food, walks and nothing more.

Although she has become our most important companion during these tough times, we know it is time for her to leave and for us to rescue more. She has waited too long for her own home and so have her beautiful parents in New York.

It has been four months since Gochi has been waiting to fly to her parents in New York but it has been delayed every time owing to the pandemic restrictions and now for the lack of a flight buddy. With the tricky COVID situation around the world, international borders sealed and uncertainty looming in the air, the past few months have just been nerve racking for us. As a result, we now have to send her through cargo, which will cost us more than we can afford.
In the last months, we have covered all her medical bills and transportation expense without asking for any financial assistance. But we need you now, more than ever. Gochi had a plan in her head when she escaped the undignified life on the roads, now it is our time to keep her plan from failing!

I know the pandemic has been tough for everyone, which is why we did not do any major fundraisers to give our regular donors a break. But Gochi really needs to go home, donate whatever bit you can spare. She will be forever grateful to you and will parcel you many kisses!
