Mercy for the Voiceless is a small initiative to feed stray animals in RK Puram Sector 1 Red Light, RK Puram Sector 1 West Block Sewa Bhawan Office and some dilapidated areas of Sarojini Nagar and Bhikaji Cama Place. The whole problem started with the redevelopment policy of the government which called for the reconstruction of government colonies. As residents were relocated, their only source of food was taken away from stray cattle. The unprecedented lockdown made the problem worse as all local food establishments were completely shut. Realizing its serious impact on stray animals, we started feeding stray animals with our little savings. What started as a one-time feeding drive for 20 stray dogs has grown into a large family of 250 wherein we not only feed stray dogs but also rescue services within just 4 months of operation- Also conducted adoption and vaccination campaign. We are also totally working on the quality of our service, initially we fed milk and chapati to the stray animals but now we have switched to chicken rice which we prepare ourselves. Our monthly expenditure on food, vaccinations, rescue cases and treatment is ₹60,000/ Finances have been a huge constraining factor for us, forcing us to cut down our operations by 50%, reduce the number of stray animals - we currently feed 150+. Not only this, we adopt 150+ stray animals, and foster and rescue 300+, which also adds to the expenses. With the weak financial condition and high fluctuations in our monthly funding, we are not able to provide quality service to the stray animals who are now completely at the mercy of the homeless for all their needs. A strong financial position will help us expand our mercy for voiceless strength to 250 and beyond. Please come forward and help these voiceless creatures.
