On 18th November 2020, Sonia had a sudden black out and fainted in the afternoon at 3 pm due to which she felt that her left hand was detached from her body. After she fainted, she had no pulse or heartbeat for nearly 40 minutes. With the local medical support available at the time, her chest was thumped to revive her.
On 24th and 25th November MRI’s were conducted at Inamdar hospital which showed a genetic tumour on the surface of her brain the size of which was 2.5" to 3.5". As a result of this tumour her left side of the body and vision of both eyes has been affected. She has had three brain surgeries (on 30th November 2020, 19th January 2021 and 27th February 2021). With the second surgery the tumour was completely removed but a new development was noticed. Water started coming out from the skull. Doctors have been unable to diagnose the reason for the water secretion and now it continues to accumulate within the skull. It hasn’t dried up even after the third surgery. Currently her vision is still affected, she can’t see clearly - she has double and blurred vision. She needs help moving around the house including going to the bathroom, she can’t get up on her own. She is unable to stretch out her left arm. There is no ankle and toe movement in the left leg. She needs hired help with her daily activities and daily physiotherapy and continued medication.
Her father who was the main financial support in the family had a stroke on 3rd of January 2021 as a result of which he lost his speech and was admitted in Jahangir Hospital. He passed away on the 18th of February 2021.
Sonia’s three surgeries, hospitalization expenses of both Sonia and her father and the continuous treatment that she still requires have left the family in a very poor financial situation. The hospital bills so far have been close to 15 lakh rupees. Medical bills are separate.
Currently the family does not have any stead source of income and medical expenses continue to pile up. She needs your help.
