We are the Solaris Rocketry & Exploration Society (SRES). We are four people. We are not from IIT. We don't have a lab or a department budget. Most of us are still preparing for college entrance exams.
And on August 23rd, 2026, we are targeting our first rocket engine static fire.

This is Project PROTO II — our first propulsion-based flight mission under the Aspera Program, which aims to launch a sounding rocket to 7,000 metres to collect atmospheric data that satellites and weather balloons miss.

Before that launch, we need to prove one thing: that our engine works. That's what August 23rd is — a static test fire. The rocket stays on the ground, bolted down, and the engine fires. We measure thrust, burn time, and structural behaviour. If it works, we move forward. If it doesn't, we learn why and fix it. That's the SRES way.

We have been building this with ₹1,730 in our account. The static fire requires ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 for propellant, test equipment, safety materials, and recovery hardware.

Fund Utilisation:
  1. Propellant & chemical materials — ₹7,000
  2. Test stand & structural hardware — ₹4,000
  3. Safety & recovery equipment — ₹3,000
  4. Data recording & sensors — ₹3,000
  5. Platform & gateway fees — ₹2,000
  6. Contingency — ₹3,000
  7. Surplus retained for PROTO II flight mission — ₹8,000
Total — ₹30,000

We are not asking for investment. We are not promising returns. We are asking you to be part of the moment a small, independent student rocketry organisation in India fires its first engine.

Every rupee goes directly to the mission. Nothing else.

If you have ever looked up at the sky and wondered — this is for you.

Team SRES,
Per aspera ad astra.
