Dear Samaritans,
My youngest daughter was diagnosed with advanced stage IV breast cancer in January 2021 which has spread to the lungs, liver, bones, and other parts of her body. Unfortunately, it was detected late in Stage IV. She is undergoing chemotherapy and targeted therapy at Basavaramataram Indo American Cancer Hospital. As part of this targeted therapy, the doctor has prescribed an injection called Perjeta which must be infused every 21 days for lifelong, so far 10 doses have been infused and if we take 8 more doses then it is free for life long. Each dose costing INR ~2.55L (1+1) in addition to other medications costing INR ~50, 000-75,000 for each cycle of treatment.
As of today, the family has spent more than 20 lakhs for her treatment and has run out of all sources of finances to support her treatment for lifelong. Due to this financial crisis, she missed three cycles of therapy already. Continuing this treatment is necessary at any cost to extend her life span to fulfil the responsibilities as a mother of two very young sons aged 2 and 6 years.
She is 37 years old married and with two kids (aged 2 and 6) and her husband has a small business. With no steady income, her husband is unable to bear the expenses of her treatment. He used his finances and savings to pay >10 lakhs for the treatment of their elder son who had health issues at the time of birth. Until now, my two elder daughters, who had borne the medical expenses for their father who succumbed to COVID, have been paying for the treatment considering the financial crisis from her husband. These multiple medical emergencies in the family, within a very short span, have drained out of their savings.
During this medical crisis, my daughter needs more financial support to continue with her targeted therapy/ Surgery/ radiotherapy to extend her life span, which is estimated to be more than INR 20,00,000. Requesting to kindly contribute through Milaap towards my daughter’s treatment at this crucial point of her desperate need.
