Fires are the most common accidents that are often reported in residential,commercial and industrial areas. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reports says that Between 2001 and 2014, close to 3 lakh deaths were reported because of fire accidents in India, an average of 59 deaths a day. Maharashtra alone accounted for 24% of all the deaths. Therefore more attention is required to understand the burning phenomenon of fires.

I am a research scholar of Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala. Our aim is to conduct an experimental study of open and enclosed fires of different size and determine the heat transfer, smoke production and spread of fire. Also we develop a computer simulation of real fire growth in buildings and vehicles. We can calculate the fire safety distance from the fire source and that data will help us to safe fire fighting and emergency evacuation. We can categorize the fire severity area and as the results reduce the impact of fire accidents or prevent the fire accidents.
For the smooth running of my research need some financial support and I expect our findings  make a new era in fire fighting and prevention. I assure that our research is more relevant in current days.
