It happens to 1 in every 700 babies in India and can make simple things like eating, speaking, or even smiling much harder. For children with cleft conditions, life becomes a long journey filled with surgeries, dental treatments, and speech therapy. It’s not just a medical challenge; it affects their confidence, makes them more vulnerable to bullying, and can lead to malnutrition. For families, the emotional and financial burden of managing ongoing treatments can be overwhelming.
At SIRAT | The Cleft Warriors Ensemble (Official Website), we are dedicated to supporting cleft warriors and their families, walking with them through this multi-decade journey. Our mission is to provide holistic care that addresses not just the medical needs, but the emotional, social, and financial challenges faced by cleft families.
The funds from this campaign will go toward offering personalised support for each cleft family, ensuring they receive tailored assistance at every stage of their journey. This includes free speech therapy, mental health counselling, and ongoing guidance. We are also working on building a cleft assistance website in multiple Indian languages, powered by AI, so families across the country can access the resources they need. In addition, we organise offline and online events to raise awareness, foster community engagement, and empower cleft warriors to overcome the challenges they face.
