Little Siddhi was diagnosed with Brain Tumor last January and was admitted at the SSKM hospital in Kolkata for treatment. She remained admitted for more than a month and underwent two surgeries before she was released. Her vision did clear after the surgeries. However her treatment was not complete - she was supposed to go back for one more major surgery and radiation therapy within a month.
Around then the Covid situation panned out followed by lockdown of the city. Meanwhile Siddhi started complaining of blurry vision. Her parents went back to SSKM for help but were repeatedly turned down due to Covid reasons. Last week she completely lost her vision, her latest MRI scans revealed that her tumor was aggressively growing and has completely blocked her optic chiasma now. The parents were sent out on a wildgoose chase across the city and each and every government hospitals they turned to refused treatment since they were not admitting any non-covid patients.
Siddhi has been very brave so far trying to battle this condition. Finally after a lot of challenge her parents got an opportunity to get her examined at a private nursing home in Kolkata where she has been suggested immediate surgery followed by radiotherapy. If this surgery is delayed any further, this little girl might not be able to see forever. Siddhi's family has a lot of financial constraints which is why they were seeking help at the government facilities initially. Their situation further worsened with the lockdown now as they don't have immediate access to any fund. Despite receiving some help from extended family to raise Rs.2 lakh they still need 7 lakh rupees (approx $9500) more to continue her treatment. Her parents Dipa and Prasad are really feeling helpless in this situation. They have been going through a lot and living with constant fear every moment that any delay to raise this fund might cost permanent loss of eyesight of their six-year old.
Her parents would really appreciate any contribution from your part towards her treatment. Since time is of the essence please help if you can by clicking the "contribute now" button, even a small contribution would be of great help. If you are not in a position to contribute yourself, please spread this message far and wide with your family and friends who might be able to help this 6 year old to see the world around her again.
