Once again we're struggling from a new and more dangerous wave of Corona virus. One of the key and proven way to prevent Covid19 is wearing a effective mask and keeping your hands clean. But even this basic necessity to fight the pandemic is not available to our poor city or slum dwellers, daily wage workers and sanitation workers.
Because of continuous advertisements and urging by top leaders, awareness of covering the face has increased but due to non proper gear it is mostly ineffective.
What we plan to do is provide 2 N95 masks (to be used on alternate days and stored in a envelope), 100ml Hand Sanitizer and 1 200gms soap to people living in slums and open spaces with almost no shelter. We also plan to talk to them how these simple measures can save them from this deadly disease and prevent hospitalization and even death.
Our hospitals are full, if we'll give proper simple gear to needy people to safeguard themselves in the coming weeks, I'm sure they'll put it on and stay safe.
What will we do?
Give 2 N95 masks, 100ml Hand Sanitizer, 200gms Hand Soap and 1 envelope to poor city and slum dwellers.
When we will do it?
Immediately, since the 2nd wave is already ongoing. We'll start distribution in and around Jaipur city from 25th Apr 2021.
How we'll we do it?
Me and my group of friends will distribute it in areas with slum, small chwals, people living on road or under bridges or nearby hospitals and dharamshalas.
Can't these people just stay inside during lockdown?
I hope this was so easy. Not everyone has a permanent place to call home. Many poor people, daily wagers are living in close proximity in open spaces and in tent like structures. People are still living below bridges and alongside hospitals to have easy access to free food by government.
What will be the cost?
A good yet cheap N95 mask costs 40rs, so 2 will cost 80rs, a 200gms soap will cost 10rs, 1 100ml hand sanitizer will cost 45rs and 1 storage envelope is just 1 rs. We will not take any money for distribution, as we're fortunate enough to be working from home with stable income as of now, so we'll distribute these in the evening on our bikes, following social distancing. Total cost per person 136rs.
If all of our funding goal is reached, we'll be able to help about 750 poor people to safeguard themselves from deadly Covid19.
