small town 290 kms from Kolkata, a lovely healthy boy was born to Mrs and Mr
Jatadhari Mukherjee. The parents were overjoyed and they doted on the child,
their only son. They named him Sibasis.
But fate had other plans. Mr Jatadhari Mukherjee suddenly passed away. Unfazed and undaunted Mrs Mukherjee set about working hard to raise Sibasis, and what a fine son he turned out to be. Sibasis was focused at succeeding and with sheer hard work and determination he ploughed on in life completing his schooling and then his engineering with flying colours.
In 2011 he decided to take a life partner and married Debjani, a petite girl from Kolkata. In the same year they had their first child, a girl, and then in 2019 they had a boy. The family, he declared, was now complete. His hard work and determination put him on the path to success with British Telecom in Gurugram, Delhi. With his wife by his side he dreamt big for his children and wanted to make sure they had the best that life could offer.
He was determined to provide for it. Suddenly on the 19th of May 2021 it all came crashing down for the family. Sibasis Mukherjee lost his battle with Covid 19, leaving behind his beloved wife and his two wonderful children, who have yet to start on their life journeys.
As colleagues and friends we stand by Debjani in her darkest hour. We appeal to all of you around the world who knew Sibasis and were touched by his nature and his infectious spirit, to open your hearts and support Debjani and her children as they now prepare to accept the reality and move into the unknown world that lies ahead. Let us get together to hand them the candle that will light their path to safety and success.
Let us all pay tribute to Sibasis Mukherjee. We know, whatever we all collectively might do, we will never be able to fill the hole a loving husband and a doting father left behind. But as colleagues and well-wishers we can get together and give his children the wings to fly, just as their father wanted to.
The ‘Give Me Wings’ fund which we have initiated, aspires to create a corpus of Rs15 lac for the young children, Sibasis Mukherjee’s children. So do send in your contributions as soon as you can.
If for any reason you cannot contribute, and it is absolutely fine, do shower the family with blessings for that will give them the strength to cross this abyss.
Thank you very much!
